Double Bass Any one using these small amps for double bass?

The vintage tube bassmans were absolutely lovely for electric - I adore the silverface - but I can easily see how they'd be less than ideal for upright. Highly colored sound. However the newer versions, if you haven't tried them yet, you may be very pleasantly surprised. Not totally neutral, maybe a bit bass hyped, but pretty clean!

I have not tried one of the current Fender Bassman Amps, I’ve have owned three different Walter Woods Amps and these days I use a Grace Designs Felix Preamp with Powered MAS 1/8 cabinets. The new Fenders may be great, but as great as their basses are I’m just not Fender amp convert, with one caveat, I like,
the Fender rumble combos for Double Bass. They sound very good with piezo pickups.
