Any younger bassists on here?

I first started playing bass because my brother played guitar and I didn't want to copy him. (Plus I'd kinda failed at a few instruments before). Turns out it was a good decision. Bass is an amazing instrument, and although not easier than guitar, it is a bit easier to strum (six strings is too many)

Hi! I'm actually 13 (I'll be 14 in July) and started playing the bass on this christmas (2013). My main "inspirations" was Geddy Lee and Chris Wolstenholme. Now I'm learning from videos because I haven't find a teacher in my town yet.

17 here. I started my musical career in the summer of 2012 just walking into a store and buying my first guitar. I wasn't very good for a long time and always preferred chord-work and rhythm.

That led to the decision to buy my first bass! A poopy 4 string squier that same year.

I guess I never looked back. Bass made much more sense to me from the moment I picked it up for the first time. I couldn't play the chords I could on guitar, but could make chord progressions sound incredible.

So yeah, I'm pretty young haha
