Anybody Using the Behringer UB2442 PA Board?

Not my favorite but its paid for and we'll use it until it explodes. Here's the question(s):

I have a handful of peripheral processors (para EQ, Studio Twin, Sonic Max.) that I'd like to add, however, the Behringer board does not offer a main insert. Instead, Behringer's on-line manual recommends you use the Aux 4 send / return for placement. So be it. I'm able to wire all 3 without problem but I've having difficulty routing the signal to the "main outs". I'm not a sound man and, therefore, find all the little buttons and knobs counter-intuitive. I'm sure there's a simple set-up configuration that, with the exception of actual EQing, will serve us well gig-to-gig.

If you can help, please respond within this thread or PM me. Ideally, I'd like to set up the rig in our rehearsal space and make phone contact with a fellow TBer able to help.

I must be missing some info.

Why not just take your main outs from the board, run them through the processing you need, and then send the signal to the crossover/amps/speakers?

Certainly a possibility. One of the pieces is unbalanced (older Sonic Maximizer) and "fits" better in the Aux 4 send / return....if that makes any sense. The components on hand are:

Digitech Studio Twin (effects proc.)
Behringer 5 Band Para EQ
Sonic Maximizer

The whole schmear would feed into the xover, amps, etc.

I guess I wasn't missing anything.

Just chain them as I mentioned. This is a typical setup.

Use the Aux for effects that you need to blend, return it to a board channel, not the Aux return. Setthe effect to 100% mix and use the fader to control the amount going to the mains - this keeps your mains signal cleaner and allows an instant control on the amount of effect (verb) rather than screwing with the unit itself.

For overall stuff like EQ, crossovers, and the BBE you want to run from your mains out if you don't have an insert.
