Anyone Drinking?

You must have gone to some pretty laid-back schools....they had us take English all the way through 12th grade. College as well. And "resoning" makes one more ;) And I wasn't even commenting about your writing :D

Nah, I'm actually, believe it or not, in an advanced placement class for my first (freshman) year of highschool. Like I said, I'm just on a forum. It doesn't really matter here, so I don't take the time to pay attention.

I know. Its all good. I'm more making fun of myself here. By the way, I think now is as good of a time as any (not this is a particularly important thread). I love all of your art on your site, Bryan. Its all really well done, and it actually gets me thinking. I feel like I can relate to a lot of your paintings, and I'm not exactly sure how. Yours is some of the rare art that does that for me.

This thread proves one thing pretty clearly- underage drinking kills brain cells to such a great degree that it impairs the ability to spell correctly and use contractions when needed. If you're not ready to handle knowing the difference between "there," "their," and "they're," you're not ready to handle alcohol.

;)

K... thanks for nitpicking. If you wanna go ahead and view my other posts, I usually don't make too many spelling and grammar errors. It's was a simple mistake, but thanks for commenting on something thats totally irrelevant in this thread.

It's because you're a lesbian, right?

Just kidding :) Thanks for the kind words. I don't do a lot of "pretty" art as a lot of my training should have led me towards- conveying an idea or emotion is the most important thing to me- not everyone gets that, so I thank you for taking the time to check my stuff out and see what you can derive from it. It's a tough juggling act doing representational figure paintings while trying to convey broad interpersonal ideas and themes. Heck, I only recently began feeling comfortable putting defined portraits on some of the figures in my paintings again- for a long time, I avoided putting nearly any idiosyncratic features in so people wouldn't be able to focus on those attributes and details and were forced to look at the figures in a group context. Anyways, thanks again. When (if) ever it stops raining here in CT, I'll be taking some more images of my recent stuff so I can upload them.

OH SNAP!!!!111!!! :D

Sorry, had to. Sorry- back to the underage drinkers giving drinking advice! Here's mine from when I was 17- don't drink a bottle of Buttershots straight and a six pack of Zima. Death would feel better.

Maybe...;)

Ok, not really. I think its just a lot of your scenery, city-scape artwork that really throws something at me. I love riding in a car, going around a large city, or a small town, or an abandoned road, and your art kind of takes me back to all of that, I suppose. I also love your overall style, the idea behing mixing classical training and abstract ideas. It just speaks wonders to me.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the new stuff. Now I've just gotta find God's number and get him on the phone about the damn weather... ;) :D

Who's being rude or ignorant? I was being observant- that's the opposite of ignorant. And it can't be rude to point out grammatical errors when they're there- that's like saying it's rude to call the sky blue ;) Although it is rude and ignorant to ignore a moderator's request to not say anything relating to drinking....;)

The only thing I don't like about this forum is how people sometimes are just completly rude and ignorant. It really bugs me because their are so many nice people on here.
Well, while we're nitpicking, it seems awfully rude to me not to make the tiny effort required to make yourself understandable to the rest of us. I've got no problem with an honest mistake now and then, but not making the effort is pretty disrespectful to your fellow forumites.

Are you sure your not drinking because your 14? Lol. I personally love drinking and don't think its overrated at all. Give me a rum n' coke, some good music, and a cigar and im one happy fella. :D

Also, im just curious, have you ever gotten drunk before, or had a buzz Snake?
says the person who is a mere 2 years older and first got drunk at 15, 1 year older than person he is mocking.

i just don't see the point of drinking a toxin (yes, it's a toxin, that's why you will die if you drink too much) to a point where my nervous system is temporarily useless, i can't drive or do anything like that (not that driving is really important to you, you're only 16 (lol)), if i drink too much, i end up throwing up, i'll smell like a rat's ***, and feel like crap the next morning.

alright! sound's like a blast to me!

oh yeah, to top it off, i have to spend my hard earned $$ to feel that way.

and it's not like i'm straight edge, i'll have a beer every now and then, or a mixed drink, but i won't get drunk. when i do drink, i drink for taste, not effect.

imho, being proud of getting plastered and enjoying a cigar at the ripe old age of 16 is just really immature. people don't realize how easy it is to become an alcoholic. and to be brutally honest GG, it sounds like you already are.

i'm not condeming you, it's just not a good path to be on. i've seen alcohol ruin so many lives of people close to me. don't think you're invincible to alcohol's effect just cause you're young and think you're invincible at 16. you're not, i was there only 3 years ago. unless you're putting up a "front" for us TB folk, i fear that if you continue on the path you're on, your life may be no different in a few years than some people i know. if that is the case, do yourself a favor and get some help.

Where's KSerg?

Right here. :)

I was going to write how I am disappointed about this "stereotyping" of me and my people. “Where is Serg” and “Ghetto Russian” and “drinking” However then I noticed that there are 5 bottles of vodka next to my monitor, 4 cases of beer under my table and bottle of tequila next to my bed. That made me a sad panda. :(

Alcohol isn't overrated, it's the drink of champions. So says I.

So many different tastes, and slight variations on how you feel.

For me I usually end up in a different mood on each drink.

Jagermeister - Super-happy

Gin - Angry

Bourbon - Crazy

Rum - Confrontational

Wine - Sleepy

Beer - Mischievous

Vodka - Over-confident

Whiskey - Fun
