More specifically, the little animated sqiggles, morphing into characters, and such, which were cute and novel for about 15 minutes, and now being run into the ground by all the sheeple climing onto the bandwagon. It’s become an annoying cliche along the lines(in broadcast production)as the side shot of someone being interviewed, the quick cut to the talking head staring off into space, as done to death on Carson Daly. Was that supposed to be edgy, fly on the wall? It might have been the first month, but after that, it was just tired. Similarly, all the cop shows, from NYPD Blue to L&O, where the camera jerks around like you’re viewing the scene sneaking around behind a desk. Then, way back in the prehistoric days of early MTV, there was this thing of an extremely short segment of motion being repeated rapidly 3-5 times, somewhat like a strobe. You’d see it in a lot of videos, just what the hell was that all about? I realize they were just figuring things out to make it visually interest, but it always looked like a cheap effect, and done a few too many times, was just lame. This was done way before the digital glitching on Max Headroom. Isn’t there supposed to be some creativity here?
