Well, maybe my panic was premature; the phone did ring some this week.
I'm still on the ramen plan - but that's January for you.
I put my gig money in a box…I have not spent any of it in over 50 gigs.Invested this weekend's $ in ingredients for a big pot of chicken soup. In deference to TB, there were a lot of carrots.

Not really gigging anymore, but even when I was,the pickings were getting pretty slim.
Here in this part of Cali, if you can play Mexican music ( Cumbias, Rancheras, Norteno..etc.) you can gig 7 days a week. And I have several buddies who do.
Country gigs? .....some .....but much, much less than before.
Blues and Classic rock? ..... fuggetaboutit.
Depends where you live.
My local are has a vibrant gigging circuit where some bands may be working 2 and even 3 times a day on weekends and 1-5 times or more during the week.
There are venues with many having 3 bands a day with a noon or afternoon, late afternoon and evening bookings.
