Anyone else literally CAN'T tan?

I happen to be 4 of the most pale nationalities on the planet. 1/4 German, 1/4 Irish, and 1/4 English. But guess what the final one is: Italian. I could have had the sexy tan genes, but no. Instead, my ancestors happened to be from a small mountainous region in southern Italy, where every happens to be strangely pale -___-

It just sucks taking flak from people who accuse me of being a basement dweller just because of my luck. One of my friends has lived on teh beach his whole life and is just as pale as me, he feels just as frustrated. Anyone else here have that problem?

My hair turns blonde-ish in the summer but I don't tan much either. Mysteriously, one of my brothers looks tanned year-long.

Two of the states with the larger percentage of skin cancer are Hawaii and Arizona.

White people lay around (or move around) in the sun with minimal covering and get a cancer that has a VERY high level of lethality. It's possible you stand a better chance of survival from smoking.
A guy I knew just died at 43 yrs old from that (out here). Started getting spots on his ears neck.....and he did die. The cancer metastasized before he knew it. It's also a painful way to go.

Don't play around with getting a "sun tan". It's not a smart thing to do.

Yes I realize that's probably unhealthy, but I have a habit of forgetting sunscreen sometimes, and at 44 there have yet to be any skin issues. *fingers crossed*

My Mom would literally freak out when I was a kid at how red I'd get, and make me come inside which totally sucked...but I'm auburn haired, so it's to be expected in some.

Yes, that is correct....still, I find in both pics that States I figured would be through the roof, actually arent, and some I thought would fair well...actually didn't.

I also find that ironic. The same goes for water. If you drink too much, you can develop a severe electrolyte imbalance and die!
