Double Bass Anyone ever hear of Sonus Speakers?

B18 Bass – Sonusphere

Very close to $1K, 12" and 10" in a round package, lots of discussion about acoustic properties under the Tech Info tab.

Anyone ever try or use one? Just curious. The maker is down the road from me by about an hour.

Never heard from them. The tech info is lacking info. They have a point about the pro's of a round enclosure, but a round enclosure in itself won't make response flat and omni directional. The speaker has a role in that too. If omnidirectionality and flat response are the main selling points I would have put those graphs in the tech info.

The closer the shape to a sphere (ball), the stronger one resonance gets. But this is only valid when the sound source is in the center. It might be a lot better when the driver is on the surface of the sphere.

The 12" is a passive radiator
The 10" is the driver. I can work fine as a sub, but you'll need to add a top.
You should go check them out. It's the best way to know how they will work for you.

Only an hour away? I'd ask them if they'd loan or bring one out to a gig for you to demo in battle conditions.

Still find it funny no reviews as of yet. I would think someone here at least had a try for it. I guess it's why Moses are putting their QC on their necks on a backburner and concentrate on these now. They aren't enormously expensive and you need an external amp anyway on some of them. Looks like one of those automatic robot lawn mowers or robot vacuum cleaners.
