I had a few problems there (bass forum) earlier tonight with multiple posts going in and then red banners saying I was not qualified to go in there when I tried to delete the extra ones but didn't try to start a new thread. It was a pretty transitory thing though.

It would seem some pointers have gone awry. I'm pretty sure the situation will resolve itself next maintenance cycle. If not, and assuming that the software is written in C or C++, I'm available for coding work.

Are C and C++ still a thing? Or have they gone the way of COBOL and RPG? Am I showing my age by even mentioning these languages?

(I'm aware that some legacy software may still be being maintained in COBOL, but I don't believe anything new is being coded from the ground up, and hasn't been for years. Decades?)

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K...

I think things started getting wrinkly a few days ago. A few days ago, I tried to log in to TB, only to be confronted with a server error that said the site itself couldn't load. It stayed down for about five minutes, but I kinda wondered if we were going to get served up another outage.

I've been getting server errors just by clicking "Like" on some posts. (There's no pattern to it I can find; It's just random posts that won't allow a Like-click.) Then yesterday, the server errors expanded to include posting errors. I'll type up something, hit "Post Reply," only to get the server error message. Then, the little "new posts have appeared" banner line shows up. Click that, and Lo and Behold, my post shows up, with the draft still in the reply window.

I'll cross-post this over to the Bug Reports section. I'm guessing they're aware of it, but it's worth running up the flagpole.

I always though it was written in PHP.

I've had the same issues, but only on a certain thread (Last Albums You Listened To In Their Entirety). I've reported it in the Bug Report forum.

Interesting. I've been posting a fair amount and haven't encountered any of this. Using a laptop with Mac OS. Wonder what's up?
