Anyone having trouble with MEC 2-band?

I have a Warwick Corvette Std 6. Active mode won't work anymore, but it plays in passive mode. I took it to the music store, and they checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said they called Warwick and were waiting to hear back from them, but it's been three weeks. Anyone else having this problem? Could I replace the 2-band with a bart hr 3.3?

Bart 3.3 would be just fine, assuming that your MEC is truly DOA. I would check the battery and its connections before I made the change. I would also check the connections on the pots. Also, could it be one of the pots?

If I were to perform this replacement, I'd get a prewired module, with preamp, pots, and output jack. It's an easy replacement, negating need to worry about exisitng components. Your setup will then be good to go for a long time.

If you replace, let us know how it works out.

Also, keep the original in case you ever need to sell your bass. Original electronics are desirable, even if not functioning.
