So I've listening to a lot of Thundercat's recently, it's really been blowing my mind as to what is the next step for the bass in modern music. It's seems like a lot of his chordal playing goes into a very high register, does anyone know if he is using the standard tuning for a six string (BEADGC) or not?
12 years later, it sounds like hes using CFA#D#C on "Funny Thing" based on that low open C and the runs he's doing. Just a half step up, so maybe a pitch pedal.
