No, but I once tuned my low-C string down to a low, low, low-E (two octaves below the open E). All you could hear was puh, puh, puh, puh, puh, puh of the individual cycles.

How did I know it was a low, low, low-E? By playing the harmonics and using a tuner.

Two octaves below the E string at 42 hz would be about 11 hz. Cycles that low (below about 15 hz) are perceived as individual pulses or clicks depending on waveform.
