Anyone remember this bass?

Percy Jones used to play a 5 string fretless version that I always lusted after. That was on the later Brand X tours, now he plays the luthite model with the band Tunnels. For some reason which he never answered when I asked him, he prefered the luthite sound to that wood combo. Sounded crazy to me but he is the king. :) However I just read on his site he made a wooden body to replace his luthite. No mag PUP only piezo, that's how he had the luthite one when I last saw him, ripped the mag out completely, nothing but an ugly red luthite hole. LOL

Just found this in an interview on the enhanced portion of the new Tunnels live album, The Art of Living Dangerously:

Interviewer: There is a hole in your bass where there probably was a pickup; why, and do you have plans to make use of it?

Percy Jones: There was a magnetic pickup in there which I never used since I just used the piezos. I'm going to fill the hole with Composition B and then stick a detonator in it.

By the way, there are some videos of Tunnels here:

I haven't watched them yet, but at least one of the tunes ("Lilly's Dolphin") seems to be the same performance that's on the live album.

I am a bad boy. I forgot "al"

But officer I was just a groovin' with my eyes shut when I felt this thud and my bass was ripped right out of my hands! :crying:
