Just curious if anyone has tried these.
Thunderbird Bass Pickup Vintage Style for Gibson,Chrome/Nickel

I've got an Epi TBird in Pelham Blue, which is complete, and the body from an Epi Goth TBird with which I plan to make a Fenderbird. I'm putting a lot of the stock parts from the blue TBird onto the black one, and I'm fitting nice nickel and chrome parts onto the blue one.

Other than these, AFAICT it's the $3-400 pickups, like the Lollars, Thunderbuckers, or Seymour Duncan Custom shop. I'm sure all of those pickups sound amazing, I know you get what you pay for, but I'm just curious about these or other cheaper alternatives.

Also, if anyone happens to know which pickups will fit in an Epi Standard IV without having to break out the router, that info would be super helpful. It seems I've read that a little routing is needed with the Thunderbuckers. Not the end of the world if necessary, but it could help me make decisions.

It's the Eric Custom from EY guitars, 1st comment on the YT page confirms this.

I use them in P-basses.

Great pickups, makes you wonder how the others can charge so much

There are loads of great affordable pickups out now.

Alan Entwistle's ceramics are good but his Neodymium models are amazing.

Josi Warman is another offering top notch goodies for little money, the 8.5 Henry Jazzbar just kills in both looks and output. His Drivetrain 4 coil scares the pants off me, over 20 Henries for just £22 !! Trying it in the normal P-bass position ATM, I expect that'll change

Great to have all that feedback. Just took a look at EYguitar parts set and saw they have a ceramic version as well albeit same impedance. You guys have the alnico version? I'm wondering what would give me more growl in an epi EB3 (I'd most likely remove the existing pickups).

I like em, keeping a $400 dollar Thunderbird bass to mod for low bucks, those EY pickups are a great buy, pickup rings and 3 day air total was $150.00 bucks, up graded the pots to v/v 500k cts and 250 tone cts w/047 cap you will need new knobs the epi pots are smaller than 6mm
