Anyone try out the New Sire V8 or P8

I was all set to get a Sire V5 change to a AlBridge bridge & add a John East preamp.
Then Sire released the 8 series basses with the roasted maple neck I love. basically all the things I'd be looking for in bass checked all my boxes. Just wondering if anyone has laid hands on these yet.

Lobster did a review on the tube about it.

I love my P5 and think my V5 is decent, so the P8 is really calling my name. I need a new 5er stat and the Sire seems like a relatively safe and utilitarian choice. I'm just not that keen on the finish options according to Sire's site. Generic natural/burst/white-ish.

I'm close to getting one. I love the tobacco sunburst; that's the one. The white is quite striking as well. I've heard nothing but good about the P8 5-string.

I had a V8 for a few days, but unfortunatly I had to send it back to Thomann as the bridge pickup was faulty, and the neck binding had a nasty deep scratch on it. But as in instrument it was really nice. That was last year.

I picked up the V5 this year and i've loved it. I'm waiting on a John East J-Retro to add next week. I like the JE pre's as they sound great and require no modding of the bass.
