Anyone use or try a Bossa bass?

For a month or two, the was a big buzz about them here. I haven't heard much since.

I saw Stevie in Atlantic City and Nathan was playing the Bossa. It sounded great to me in that context. I don't know if it's what you are looking for, though, Ken. It did have a great tone, and of course, Nathan is a monster--but it is really a different beast than the Alleva Coppolo. Although, even with the maple board, it wasn't 'zingy' at all. Kind of thick and woody. Could have been the mix though.

Well, I talked you into the Mike Lull....maybe I can do the same for the Bossa. Was it one of the newer models?

Riis

Here you go again Riis, I knew I could count on you... Only this time I've actually played the bass so it's even easier to believe you. From what Jorg said it was an older one, maybe a year or 2. I'll be back there in 2 weeks so let's see what the finances look like by then... and granted it's still there. I can't stop thinking about it. I posted some pics of the hang in the GTG section and you can see the bass there - Trans Teal over Ash/Quilt.

I've had my Bossa OBJ-4 since about 1999. A true workhorse, goes to every gig with me. Build quality is on par with any boutique J out there. Had to replace the preamp about a month ago, the stock pre started to distort in the high end, couldn't find a remedy...replaced with an EMG BTS.
