Anyone using a Behringer BX1200 w/ a 5-string?

I have my eye on a BX1200 locally - I've read a lot of reviews of this amp and it seems like the overall view is positive for a practice amp, also considering using as a monitor for small gigs.

I'm mostly worried about the 12" speaker and my B string. I love it when I thump that string and the bass shakes the floor with my Fender BXR 60 (15"). The fender has issues though so I don't want to gig with it (1 input jack is busted, and I've had it straight up stop making noise period!).

Price on this BX1200 is good and I'm going to play through it before I buy, but does anyone here have any 5-string impressions with this amp??

I have the bx4500 in the head form, and its okay at best for practice. There are many online horror stories of Behringers catching fire or just not working all of a sudden. If I were in your position I would look for something more stable, or if possible, keep saving money until you can get some thats going to be better quality and make you happy in the long run. I think it would be worth it to get your fender amp fixed then spend more money on an amp with a horrible reputation.

Ok, I'll check those out. Kinda working with used gear because I hate buying new and paying taxes!

I have had one for many years (I think 4 now). I play a five string bass. It's not the best sounding amplifier you can get (there is a constant hiss), but it's good for practice. It has never failed me yet.
Regarding the b string, it's ok, but it does get a bit muddy some times.

Buy it from a store that will let you try it for a month and return it if it doesn't work out.
Use it in real life venues, then decide.
Same for any amp you buy.
