anyone using aguilar db-115 as standalone?

I own two of them. Lately I use just one at a time. It's a great cab, IMHO. Seems to go deep but has the midrange punch that the DB series is known for. As a standalone I find it works for most indoor situations if fed enough power. It's an 8 ohm cab, so the 225 watts my Eden feeds it is barely enough to keep up with a moderately loud drummer and guitarist. Running it with my Demeter/Crown rig in bridged mode is a different story (1280 watts RMS 20-20k Hz). Plenty loud for almost any indoor gig and even a few in the outdoors. You might want to PM fellow TBer NoHomework81. Last I spoke with him, he owns two of them as well. Check out post #250 on the linked page. He has a sweet rig.

One of my DB 115's is for sale, btw. With two 4-door sedans in our family now, I only gig with one cab at a time. :(;)

question is what kind of music are you playing?

sorry, I should have specified.. I play from afrobeat to trip-hop to rock with the occasional jazz gig thrown in. my current rig (2x acme low b1 + wt550) sounds quite good, but my taste changed to less-hifi. also it´s not loud enough sometimes or rather it doesn´t project - I have trouble hearing myself clearly on stage.

I know this is an old thread but I just bought a new Aguilar DB 115 that I plan to replace my Peavey Basic 112 with and an amp yet to be purchased to accompany the 115. I'm only learning and practicing and my gear doesn't leave home. Blues and classic rock.
If this thread is dead I'll have to start a new one. Thanks
