Double Bass Anyone using an Ampeg PF500 for upright?

I barely tried mine before I realized that the fan noise would bug me too much at low volumes. There may be some input sensitivity issues as well - you should check your DB preamp's specs against the PF-500's input. I also didn't like my 15" portaflex cab with double bass, though that has nothing to do with the amp.

In short, it probably could/would be fine, given a cab you like and assuming you aren't playing at low volume. Even low volume would be ok if you aren't as sensitive to fan noise as I.
