AOL Begging!

I have Internet Explorer. It came with the Dell we purchased a few years back. It's O.K. Maybe there's better, but for the price...what th' heck?

My mom uses AOL and I ask her why? all the time. She's gotta pay for it, plus her monthly cable bill for internet. The tools and features eat 1/3rd of the screen, and the browser and tools are just marginal, if unexceptional.

All I got $$$ per month is my Cable internet bill.

speaking of AOL cds...

last year at school this one kid got a hold of several hundred AOL cds, and thus was forever known as AOL Mannnnnnnnnn! (add in echo-y "Man" by yourself)

He went around "fighting injustice" by throwing AOL cds everywhere. He's also a very skinny, agile guy, so he went around like a ninja throwing them like chinese stars. We even caught some of it on tape. He even got in a fight with a kid and brought the AOL cds and actually stunned the guy with an AOL disc straight to the forehead. :D

Doesn't sound so great on paper, but man, that was hilarious.

AOL is pretty shoddy, but AIM ain't bad. Well, I don't use AIM, but the network isn't bad that is.

The new version of AOL allows AOL accounts to purchase music from the iTunes music store. fwiw

i'm sorry man. i don't know about you, but i would never buy anything, especially music, through AOL.

iTunes music store...NOT AOL music store.

you still use apple's software to purchase, BUT now you can use your AOL account to LOGIN to the iTunes music store.

you aren't using AOL to buy anything, just the login, the sale goes through iTunes though.

AOL is a rip-off, and always has been. People are finally starting to notice and it is killing the company. I personally think that all modem dial-up is a rip-off for anyone who uses the internet more than 2 hours a day (total household). The cost of an extra phone line (so you don't piss all your friends off) and the ISp service is equal to broadband cost in most areas.

oh. aol probably contaminates it somehow. no, is it your AIM name? that would be pretty nice.

Well, I don't use AOL, but I though that your AOL screen-name was synonymous with your AIM handle.

in which case, yes, it should work, but if that's not how it works(like for instance, if there are multiple screen-names on one account) then no, it wouldn't work, I think it'd just be the account name.

in fact, if you don't use AOL you won't be able to access the iTunes music store with your AOL account, but since accounts on the iTunes music store are 100% free, it's not really an issue ya know?

the whole thing is really more of a convenience thing for AOL users, since Apple and AOL recently formed some sort of deal.

AOL sucks period!
AOL takes over your computer and attaches itself to all of your files. The chatrooms are a joke. I once (for sh*ts ang giggles) went into a religous chatroom and that too had the little porn bots in it. AOL is just a mess. There is no reason for someone to subject their self to something like AOL. I have not used AOL in three years and there is a BIG difference in the operation of my computer. It no longer freezes and locks up on me. Those free AOL disc they mail me don't make it into my house, I throw them away on the spot! You could not give me AOL free for life!
