Apogee Duet 2 Breakout box cable ?

Hi all - I realize this is a real shot in the dark but I picked up a Duet 2 with the breakout box off Reverb w/o realizing it did not come with the proprietary Apogee 30 pin to 30 pin cable to link up the Duet and the box . I checked with Apogee and they have long since stopped production of this and could offer no alternative . They do still use the 30 pin connector as one end of a cable used for hooking up an Ipad to a Duet 2 with one end being the Lightening connector and the other being the 30 pin end . My question is what are my chances of splicing two of those cables together to eliminate the lightening ends and end up duplicating the original Apogee cable . I did try checking with one custom cable company but they would not touch my request at all - saying they couldn't do it . Any thoughts anyone might have on how to get around this problem would be really appreciated . I did check with the original seller and he is going to check around to see if he still has the original cable but I am not expecting that to happen ! To be fair the cable was not pictured as part of the original sale so I can't really fault him on that . Thanks , Kelly

So for those of you who read my initial post and may also be considering a used Duet 2 . The breakout box cable is proprietary to Apogee and no longer available except used . They also appear to have been somewhat problematic as their original production may not have been as consistent as one would like . I talked with one custom cable provider who had two of them fail on him and he knew of several other clients of his who had similar issues with theirs . He also knew some folks who had no issues at all but it did sound kind of hit or miss . It appears to be highly unlikely there is anyone who can make a replacement version due to the plug end being an Apogee only application . Now for the hopefully good news . I believe I found a decent cable on ebay and with luck it will prove to be one of the better made ones .
This is often what happens when one doesn't have enough scratch to buy at some place other than the ' cut out ' bin of used audio. Eventually I may learn my lesson which is best stated in the ancient East Indian truism - " Buy high - cry once - buy low - cry forever " .... Kelly

Hello Kelly,
I am looking for the breakout box cable too. Have you purchased it from the ebay yet? I tried to buy it on ebay but still can not get it. Could you share the information to me please? Thank you.
