Apologies..................

Hi

Well I joined a couple of weeks ago and got stuck straight in to the RH450 thread - because I bought one. Having dabbled around the forum a bit more, I realise I missed the intro bit!

So hello. I must say this is the first time I've used forums (I've also joined Hofner Hounds) and it's an interesting experience.

A bit about me - I come from Kent in the UK. I've been playing bass for 37 years and guitar for 42. I love bass - it's the link between the beat and the melody. And although we should keep it a secret, it is the coolest part of a band, and you have as much freedom as you want to make for yourself within the style you choose to play.

I like to play what I like to hear, and I'm lucky to be in a band of like minded people - we do what we like doing, and luckily people like what we do.

My gear: Now I use Variax 705 through TC Electronics RH450 2x 10 combo and 1 x 12 speaker. Previously Line 6 Lowdown 300 and Trace Elliott 4 x 10 combos. Used to play Hohner (Steinberg style) 4 and 5 string - still got 'em and still love 'em. I have a very interesting 6 string bass. It's a 'Harley Benton'. I got it on a whim because it was really cheap from the 'Thomann' website. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I also have a vintage 1964 Hofner violin bass but I'm looking at selling that, a nice Ibanez acoustic 6 string, and just for fun a pointy 80's Lag Rockline electric guitar.

So that's me. And I'm loving the discussions I've already had on the RH450 thread so looking forward to others I can join!
