Apostrophe Bass Guitar

Some years ago a friend gave me a lovely six-string bass guitar. He said it was handmade as one of just a few prototypes in the early days of six-string basses. Its brand is "Apostrophe," and the head stock has an inlay of an apostrophe (see image). It has active bartolini pickups, and excellent build quality.

Does anyone know more about Apostrophe basses?

Great looking bass. The only thing I know about these is that Michael Anthony supposedly used one for some VH recording in the 80s. I've looked for additional information online and there's nothing out there.
