AFAIK, TRS jack can be used for mono or stereo. So yes, if you build in some sort of switching it can be done.

Yes. I have one in my 4003s. One of the tone knobs is push/pull. Mono is the default but when I pull up the knob it
is stereo. The harness was custom built by @Aceonbass.

My understanding is TRS jacks are sometimes used for mono connections. I believe the ring is unterminated.

The input jacks for an Ashdown LB30 appear to be an example of this usage:

These are switching jacks and the ring connection is left unterminated.

That might be an obstacle in what you are planning.

This. Just send signal to the ring and tip terminals. If you insert a stereo plug, it will automatically send signal to both channels. No switch required. Insert a Y cable somewhere down the path and you’re all set.

Add any 3 position switch on the bass and you can select either or both. Just like a pickup selector, but on the output side of the pot harness.

I used to own a Gibson ES-345TD guitar which had a stereo output jack. It came with a splitter harness: Just a TRS plug wired to two separate cables each terminated in TS plugs.

But if you plugged a standard mono TS guitar cable only part way into the guitar's stereo output jack, it worked exactly like a standard mono instrument.

Never bothered to figure out if that would be true of any instrument wired in stereo with the two pickups to a single TRS output jack, but I suspect it is.

makes sense. for me tone is only there to remind me that i should leave it on full. i want harmonics. and the anagram can remove anything i do t want with excellent accuracy
