Are these coated D’Addarios?

I’m trying to ID these strings. They feel slightly coated, but not like Elixers. It’s a minor coating if anything. I know it’s hard to tell from the pics. But do coated D’Addarios feel as coated as Elixers?
What do you think?

Nothing feels like elixirs. They have a clearly visible thick coating on them. All other coated strings look like regular strings. I don't know what these are but they're not Elixiirs.

Thanks. I’m pretty sure they are D’Addario. The ball ends look similar to another bass string with NYXLs.

Yes, they're definitely D'Addario based on the ball end colors. As far as coating goes, the main difference between D'Addario and Elixir is when the coating is applied. With D'A (at least with the XT series) the outer wire is coated BEFORE it's wound; with Elixir the coating is applied AFTER the string is wound. Elixir doesn't wind their own strings, so the coating can only be applied after the string is wound.

Thanks for the info. I ordered a set. I didn't like the Elixers, but the coating on these is nice. Well, at least I THINK it's coating. We will see when the new set arrives.

Are the strings new or used?
I've picked up other people's instruments and thought it felt like the strings were coated, but they were just worn in a bit, coated in oils from the skin.
Even my own strings can feel coated at times depending on the humidity levels how mpiste my hands are.

Good point. They were on a used bass that I got. I thought about them being worn in, but they don’t look too used. I guess it’s still possible to get some sweat, etc on new strings. I’ll post an update when I get the new set.

I put on the new set of D'Addario coated and I think they are the same strings. Thanks for all the help. I will probably be using these strings on this bass going forward.
