Aria IGB 35/5

An IGB35 (the four string version) has been my first bass. I do still own it, but barely play it, because...

- one fret is too low, causing high-frequent buzzes
- the neck wood seems to be a bit soft, which propably is a main contributor to the bass's muddy tone
- the electronics' shielding isn't that effective either

Issues #1 and #3 could be fixed without great effort I guess, and its overall quality level would provide a decent basis, but I have no need to switch from my other Aria IGB bass (bought it (barely) used, made in 2000 or 2001), which plays at least as fine and sounds way better.

I played on at a music shop a while back (4 banger) and was impressed with the tone myself I own 2 integra sb's and a R60 and this one seemed to have that same metallic tone I like them for. I went b to buy it the next week it was gone. I'veben wanted to try one the 68's but no around Cincy carries arias.... they had a great slap tone also

This bass has been my main axe for almost a year now, and I might be sticking into it. The tone is a killer, and has a very tight B string. I had the nut replaced with one made of bone, improving its sustain, and a passive/active bypass switch...I'm planning to change the preamp to Aguilar OBP-3 for more tonal options. :)
overall, I like the sound and feel of this bass.

Hi I know this is an old thread, but I just got one. Did you installed the passive active switch yourself? If yes could you explain to me how to do it please?
