I got an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 (180watts 1-15" speaker) I love the sound, except when I turn it up over about 3 in any combination of master and pre volume it rattles like the speaker is blown. I plugged it into a new GK 2-10" cabs and it sounds great. So I changed out the 15" witha new Eminence Kappa Pro, (400 watt capacity) did the same thing, so it's got to be the cabinet itself. I tightened and screws that were visible but still doing the same thing. Anyone have any thoughts or been though this with an Ashdown combo? For now I'm using the combo like a head with my GK 2-10. That sux to lug the combo around like that.

Ashdown Combo rattling ..help

You know I've only recently started using this amp out in clubs. I just used the built in direct for recording and working on stuff in the house, and I bought it used so I thought it was just a blown speaker, I guess I'll disassemble this whole thing see what is making noise.
Years ago I had an Ashdown cabinet that rattled. Turned out to be the emblem mounted to the grill. I put a few pieces of foam on the back of the emblem, then screwed it back on. Problem was solved.
Rap on the cabinet (fist or rubber mallet) . Play a loud bass note and press against the sides,top, and bottom of the cabinet to try and reduce the rattle. It takes glue in exactly the right place, sometimes a finishing nail to hold it together while it dries.
