Ashdown EVO IV

That 25W won't be noticeable, but maybe in print it'll look good enough to sway prospective buyers in that direction. With the two added sliders I thought they might shift the freq. centers a bit from the old settings. I would have been excited to see a parametric eq.
Sure did get a good sound from my Evo II last night.

I'm a little confused as well with Ashdown. I just plonked down some money on the Rootmaster 420 with matching cabs, and noticed they have a 'Toneman' range exclusively to Thomann.de

Has anyone any idea how this stacks up with the Rootmaster MAG and the EVO IV. It seems to be much better value for money at £252.89 for a 600W vs £399 for a 420W, and it has an additional speakon. I found this review which I translated from German

This top of Ashdown , 3rd generation of MAG - series ( and much cheaper !) Provides what I need for our rehearsal room.
It offers thomann FX loop ( serial / parallel circuit of the pedals ), an Octave and a gain control . Moreover, even Cernosin , bass and mid controls for those who like to deal somewhat with the fine adjustment.
With inside 2 simple switch (Deep / Bright) for prefabricated bass or treble EQ and a 5-band EQ are the thomann again a completely different sound provides .
Enough oomph and the sound has Toneman all. I play the part of a Fender Rumble 410 and am very satisfied.

To complain of me there is the Deep switch does not work well purely to press . You have to fumble something . But the thomann is crying at the highest level .

We will cut through 600 bass power , and a nice sound needs , which makes for the price certainly nothing wrong!

Any ideas? It definitely seems to conflict with their current product range.

UPDATE: After investigating, it looks like Ashdown just reused the assets from their older MAG (Evo III) series and re-released it as a Thomann exclusive. Maybe they had a lot of excess stock to clear.

As for the cabinets, they are the same as the old MAG (white piping, chrome corners) with ports added. Although they appear to have flipped the feet on the 115. I am guessing they didn't rebrand the old 210 as it had a tweeter and would have cannibalized sales of their new ones.

TLDR; Ashdown is flogging some of the old MAGS for cheap on Thomann under the product name 'Tone Man', the new MAG is the Rootmaster, which is better, lighter and more modern.

I don't know, they're website seems to lay out the range pretty clearly, and it looks like they have gone through some effort to simplify it into 'good, better, best'

I'm not really 100% sure of the industrial design though, and I appreciate the fact it's not just a line of knobs like most amps, but there are tonnes of small spacing/text/font issues throughout all their products. I would just love to attack the front of their amps with Photoshop

Small things like how there is a toggle button labeled PASSIVE/ACTIVE (each option) and then another toggle button called SUB HARMONICS. That sort of inconsistency drives me crazy! The spacing on the Rootmaster head is bonkers as well!
