Ashdown higher wattage tube amps. Any thoughts?

Both ctm300 and bta400 while they appear to be big watts. One of beauties of multi power tube amps is their flexiablity of output, removing one or two pair of the power tubes is the ability to operate the amp at say 90w.or 190w. Some adjusting of the bias required but doable. Anology to cars and monster trucks questionable because power is linear. Don't want to get into monster trucks shops, As there was one in Lakeland FL when I was there. while amp volume is logrithimic like comparing adding to multiplication.
If you want a ctm or a bta get it you can adjust the power down or by using higher nominal speaker loads on lower value taps. They are not monster trucks. More like comparing a v6 mustang to turbocharged mustang.

I bought a CTM 300 about 15 months ago

It's a genuine shitkicker best amp I have ever owned. No issues with it, some people don't think the EQ is much variety but all I asked for was warm lows.

If you can find one in USA then go for it

Like I said, I have been really happy with the LB30 and wondered if the bigger amps in the lineup kept the magic of that little guy.

If I'm not mistaken, the LB30 was designed in collaboration with people from Matamp. So, you might find some of the mentioned magic in a Matamp, rather than in a larger Ashdown.

With that said, I've got an Ashdown CTM 100, and it's a great amp. As mentioned, the EQ is subtle, but it has a nice warm and fat sound. And it's been loud enough for my needs (playing in a five piece band with a full drum set) thus far.

I have a ctm100 and a pf20-t. Love’m both! Plugged the ctm into my Peavey 1516 and it knocked the wind outta me while kneeling (ROFL) in front of the cab the first time playing through it. Good times!
Anyway,it’s an apples to oranges comparison but the Ampeg has more of a woody warmth and the Ashdown has more grit. Don’t know if this helps or not.
