Ashdown MAG C210T-300 EVO II Strange problem

Hello everyone,

I bought this amp a while ago and everything was working fine until recently. When i plug in my active pickup bass, the output goes lower and lower the more i play. Strangely, if i play with my passive pickup bass the sound is equal the whole time.

I tried out the active bass on other amps and it works fine.

Just to be sure. How did you check the batteries?
Removing them and checking with a voltmeter is not a valid test.
You need to measure voltage under load. Kind of hard to do while playing.
Also, what type of batteries?
I assume you use a quality brand alkaline rather than something from the bargain bin or a rechargeable?

Current batteries are Fujitsu Zinc Carbon - more on the budget side. Do you think changing them with alkalines would help?

Change the battery, use an alkaline type. I bet your problem goes away.

Yeah somehow he have them in stores here in Croatia, they were cheap - 15 croatian kunas each, around 2.30 USD. I bought 4. The first 2 were empty after a month and half, the other 2 were a bit more durable but not consistent.

The Duracell batteries in my active basses have been in there for years. I check them every time I change the batteries in my smoke alarms.
