Ashdown [ minor ] woes..

Hi all, newbe here..
I have a problem with a newish Ashdown ABM 500....

A few months ago it suddenly packed up and the problem was traced to a loose connection on the power amp side, the solder had fallen off and was resoldered. Last night it happened again on the next tab along [ next to fuses ] and the previous repair was also loose again!

Has anyone else had similar problems? I suspect that the joint is getting hot and coming loose as a result.

Great amp but now will have to take a back up to gigs to avoid embarrassments at future events.. I am reluctant to contact Ashdown at this point.

Nothing in an amp is likely to make solder hot enough to lose adhesion. It sounds as if the solder is failing to bond properly to the material at the joint.

It could also be that something is putting stress on it.

cheers, just soldered it back together and is still not working, all fuses ok, but not switching on the power side. .... lights up though and obvious signal going in... having another go at it.. blah,,, looks like its going to be a call to Ashdown tho..
