I used to have an ABM 500 EVOII 2x10 combo, a MAG series 4x10, and my current amp is the MK-500. All great products IME. Even if the ABM amps are inherently warm and fat, the EQ section is great, and going from old school to modern is a piece of cake IMO. And the MK-500 just kills.
I've never had a real use for their customer service, but it has a great reputation.
In addition to my current rig below, I've also had the MAG210 combo. I absolutely love their products and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them (although you will inevitably get that guy that says every single person he knows has had one break down.... I don't see that at all in present-day Ashdown). Great stuff!
Just to warn you, a fellow TB'er, whose name escapes me, will surely come along and post his "Ashdown - crashdown", he always does in threads like this one.
I don't doubt that Ashdown has had issues like most other companies, but I believe most people's experiences have been good.
yeah i'd have to agree with all that's been said so far. I have the MAG 300H head and MAG 410 cab and they are just brilliant. I can get any tone I want from it.
I did give a very long winded run on the BTA 400 and I must say, that is one top notch all tube head there.
I do own the JLo hyperdrive, I love it. I had originally ordered a tech21 VT, but along shows up my order, via UPS, low and behold, instead of a VT, there was the JLo. I'm always of the belief that things happen for a reason.
