Since you have a Felix2, I believe you can use the insert point on only one of the channels. Doing this, you could put the effects on the channel with the underwood, and leave the realist without, then use the mix control of the Felix to choose how you'd like the clean and effected sounds blended, while still taking advantage of all the buffering, EQ options, etc the Felix offers.
Here us my current effects. There is so much to do without electricity. I love volume pedals but they all suck tone. The one that doesn't is very heavy. There are a ton of sounds to explore with the bow alone - pedals disrupt the overtone behavior. It is also very difficult to find anything that guitarist have not run into the ground. Contrary to many people's beliefs, dad-rock guitar cliches are NOT more charming when moved over to another instrument.

But that is your way grasshopper, my path is different. I believe the bow is the ultimate effect, but in Europe I saw several acoustic musos using effects with great taste. I believe that I’ll know when I’ve found my voice when I’m there. I trust my instincts. I’m glad you’ve found your voice. Allow me the freedom to fail or succeed … and the litmus test is my ear. I’ve checked you out Damon. I think I comprehend your point. I’m a Session, Rock R&B bassist. I’m in a different swimming pool than you. but Rufus Reid told me last year that for awhile he was plugged in with fuzz faces and everything. He worked with Eddie Harris, and that approach has resonance with what you’re describing and what I’m hearing. So, we’re not that far removed, but I’m not ruling anything out that helps me get to the sound I hear but can’t explain.
And I have had some embarrassing things happen to me dealing with electricity and bass. Or a lack thereof…

I am not saying you are doing them - but it happens a lot. There is fairly well known cellist who is great and very experimental while acoustic but literally plays '70s radio rock guitar solos when he hits the fuzz pedal. Not mention all the dreadful looping pedal tropes. A great guitarist said once: "Anything worth hearing over and over is worth playing over and over."
Eberhard Weber, Jair-Rohm Parker-Wells & Motoharu Yoshizawa have been able to do some nice things with effects and I am sure there still great things left to try!
Holy moly! That’s a heck of a setup!! Still trying to figure out where I'd find the time to learn how to use all that stuff. I guess I'm a purist with DB.
Amen about the fuzz pedal, gotta be extra careful... I still cringe when I think about the atrocities to humanity committed by fuzz enveloped frequencies with a generous helping of poor taste and a smidgen (I like that word
) of questionable tuning. Oh, and for pudding, we can't forget the lack of the germination of ... ideas.

Here's the kicker as they say. I haven't used any of my stuff yet. I'm playing around at home with it... and you're right, that board looks impressive! I learned a lot just looking at that picture.
