ATK305?

I have played three ATK300s and 700s. They are well made, great playing, and sound great. I am seriously tempted to get one given their nice price, but I really do tend to favor five strings. Who out there has actually played an ATK305? I know the string spacing is close, but if it is like a SR5, I would be very happy since I love SR5s. Let me know if you know.

I havent played an ATK 305 but I played one of the fours the other day. I was very impressed with its quality. The neck was fantastic. For the price it really is a grat value.

The 305 has string spacing closer to that of a Soundgear, not a Stingray.

My K5 (soundgear) has 16mm string spacing at the bridge (at best, it's slightly less actually), that's pretty much as tight as you can get. Basically, see if you can get a soundgear to try for the string spacing.

I played one of the original 305s and the spacing was too tight for my liking, im pretty sure it was the same neck as you get on the 4 string version, just a 5 string bridge and nut, so it was pretty tight.

I've heard they use 4 string necks for the 5er's on the new ATK's too. I may be wrong though.

According to the latest catalog, the ATK305 has the same 45mm nut width as the Soundgears. The 4-string ATK's have a 42.5mm nut width vs. 38mm for the Soundgears, however.

I haven't run into one in the stores, but I remembered I had that catalog. I'd love to take one for a spin.

I recently played two of the new ATK 4 strings and I was very impressed with both of them!

I just traded for a nineties ATK305. It has much wider string spacing. I think it will be alright.
