Anyone's bass shipped yet? I've got a tracking number, but no dice on UPS.com yet. And while I'm here, anyone think that the white pickguard just HAS to go? I wonder what's underneath? And what color would you replace it with? (on a red sparkle, that is)

I had a transparent orange 1 from the 90s. Previous owner lost the The pickguard. There was nothing there but screw holes for the guard so I was fine with it and thinking about doing it with this one.

I just got one on Thursday.

Serial # I0611-42035

What does that tell us?

If I am reading it right, it looks like new, old stock...which is OK
I=Cort Indonesia factory (Very good I would think)
06 = 2006
11 = November build

Just read that the first digit could also be the year and in that case it would be a new stock ('10) model. maybe someone with more experience can offer better insight. I just used the online decoder and/or references from other forums.

on my 2 that i have now which were MIK, the first 2 digets were the year and the next 2 were the month. Im amost certain these are 2010 models, made after they moved production to indonesia. there should also be a stamp in the neck pocket with the month/year. we'll see.

I bought an ATK-700 in the Blue Moon finish about a year & a half ago, and it is a great playing bass with a nice beefy tone. My only gripe would be the low quality preamp Ibanez uses in these basses - there is a bit of hiss when the EQ is anywhere past the 3/4 mark, and you can get some nasty microphonic feedback if you stand too close to your amp. The figured maple on ash body is a solid tone platform - I just wish they had used some nicer components in the electronics. Can't complain though, as it is a great back-up bass for the money.

OK. Now I'm getting slightly concerned. 6:25AM Monday morning over here, and my tracking numbers at UPS are still not tracking anything. :eyebrow: Anyone else?

yes. i've been showing "billing information received" since friday, but i don't think ups works on the weekends, so maybe they will be on the road soon.
