It's a proper way to phrase it, and agreed! It has been impressive and very agreeable to the tones I resonate with and seek. Quickly / instantly in my top 3, even as a pre-amp nerd/junkie. Flat out useful and intuitive.

^^^Totally. I also have a couple, a P fretless and a J with John East that are sonically pretty close to the Audere I've got on a J but I think their mids aren't as "automatic" to set up. Or maybe I'm just a dummy. The Audere was quick to dial in. They both make a J sound really rich.

I have had Audere 4-bands in three different J 5’s now (currently have one in one of my American Elites), and am just getting ready to order two more-one for my other Am Elite, and one for the Fender Player 4 string jazz I just bought (going to mod it with a side jack as well).

They are great preamps, very usable and very musical.

One more mod. Fresh set of Nords. Not that the Japan WL series needs modding, it comes stock with a Bart pre and exceptional Bacchus pickups. These are super fine extraordinary basses, but putting in some bench time with mods just to relax has been great and therapeutic. And bass sounds fantastic in a new way. White pearloid guard coming from Bacchus.
