Hey Y'all,

What I've got is an Audiokinesis Hathor 1506 that I bought new and I received it May 2019. Since then I've powered it up a handful of times at low volume and that's it. Most of my playing pre-Covid was at a location where they had my favorite type of amp - one I didn't have to carry (a decent enough Yorkville combo that could be wheeled out of the storage room) and I really don't anticipate playing anywhere else anytime soon. And if I did I do have another rig (a pair of Carvin 115mbes) that I like and would take care of me well enough for what I do.

The Hathor was to be my "ideal cab" giving me what I loved from my pair of Carvin LS1503s ("Boutique 3-way 115 on a budget") in a lighter, easier to schlep package. But I'm not schlepping anything anywhere these days. So as is not unusual for me, I'm willing to leverage my future use of the cab for something I'd use more now (or just churn away).

Local only (Houston metro - I'm in the NW area) -- I'm not particularly interested in trying to pack it up and ship

Trade only at this point, and I have very limited interest:
- G&L 4-string L2K, L1K maybe an SB2, SB1, LB100, Kiloton/Climax/L1500
- has to have 1.5" nut width
- has to have satin neck
- has to weigh under 9lbs (empress in the 7.5-8.5 lb range would turn my head for sure)
- I have to dig it when I try it out

That's about it - if you've got a nice, light, narrow nut G&L 4 in the Houston area that you'd like to trade for an unblemished, barely used Hathor 1506 we can talk :)

Later trade addition: Guild Starfire I or II - going by the current version specs (30" scale, 1.5" nut width) I need to try one of these to see if it can be my hollowbody of choice

pics are no problem if needed, I just don't have any on hand (never really taken it anywhere or used it for more than a light checkout - all my home playing is via headphones)

I've recently come to the conclusion that I would sell it for the right price, and I would ship in the original packaging from Duke on your dime. Because I don't need to sell and it is my ideal one-cab solution (which I haven't needed since I bought it) I'd let it go for $850 plus any shipping. I know that's not a big discount over new but it's playtime in hours can be counted on one hand and those were two low volume rehearsals that I can cover with pretty much anything that makes a little noise.

The late, great Chef was an early adapter and tester of AudioKinesis cabinets. I purchased his 212 Thunderchild, which was the prototype. I still love and use that cabinet today.

I share this story in the context of the thread being bumped, with Chef appearing to be a recent poster in the "New Posts" forum list, as if he were still around in a new post. . Wish he was!

All Audiokinesis cabinets are wonderful handmade pieces that need to be heard to believe, but the Hathor 15xx series simply exceeds everything else I’ve heard or played through. Take a look at my profile page and you’ll see the long list of rigs I’ve owned, my Hathor 15 has ended all desire to try anything else. Someone needs to get this one!

Man, I'm trying! I don't have the G&L and I don't live in Houston. :atoz:

if someone local wanted to put $850 in my hand I guess I'd take it and buy a new cab or cabs when I had a use/need for such a rig . . . I know it's not much of a discount off of a new one but it's playing time in hours can be counted on one hand and I don't need to sell it

Hi craigb...ernieD aqui. ;) Well I do live in the NE Houston area and I do have a G&L L-2000, all black body and maple fingerboard; pretty bass...but it's a Tribute series and I'm sure you're looking for a US model. But I think even the Tributes came with US electrics, no? But I understand for the cab you're offering in trade, ya gotta want a US model.

I need to sell this Tribute on local CL, its' been sitting in a case for a couple years unplayed. I just can't/don't play a 4 string bass anymore. I even put the Drop D switch on the E string. But I'm so spoiled by 5ers, I just can't play a 4 string well at all anymore. GLWT-T/S.

ALSO. WOW. Did I see above that CHEF passed? So sorry to read that. I been away from TB for couple yrs, still gigging but I bought a adventure motorcycle and was lurking those bike sites only for last 2 yrs. But bike is sold and I'm back with a GASSY vengeance on TB. I will be posting alot unused gear here soon. Sorry for the derail of your thread. Have a great '22. :hyper: peace, e.
