Austin basses?? (low end stuff)

Anyone ever hear of Austin Basses? I think they are supposed to be beginner instruments. Anyone know if they ever made a MM Sterling Copy?

I found their site, and they only show a few, generic styles like a Jazz, P-bass or an Ibanez look-alike.

Just curious, something I saw today.

And yes, I played a Stingray copy, nothing special..but still got me used to the body design.

For the price point they're pretty good instruments IMHO. The few that I've checked out (P clone/5 string) were really ok. I guess in the sea of affordable gear Austin has nothing to lose and everything to gain by making their stuff pretty good.

I think I've read somewhere that they have an affiliation with Alvarez...but everything isn't true on the internet of course.
