Average Price for a 1976 Gibson Thunderbird?

What is a fair price for a 1976 Gibson Thunderbird in good shape with no headstock damage?

I missed a nice one for $1600 a coupla yrs ago- considered it a pretty good deal. if I was in the market I'd go $1800 or so. I am by no means an expert, but I peruse ebay a lot...

Edit: There's one on the bay for like 3g. Guess I'm a cheap date

Yeah I've been watching eBay too and I've seen anywhere from $3000-$5200 but they never actually sell for those prices. I'm trying to get an idea of what I could realistically ask for mine.

I agree - these are moving into the 'too expensive to play out' bracket which is a real shame. I think the 'highballers' on ebay have a lot to answer for.

Personally I wouldn't go over $2k. But in reality i'd get one with a repaired headstock for $500 less. It will play the same....
