Babys first parts casting: any tips and suggestions?

Thank you all for the advice and stories! I think for a start I'm gonna start with a harley benton diy kit to get my feet wet, should I contact them and see if they have any left handed bodies to make a kit out of, do they do that sort of thing?

Sounds like a good plan, the assembly work is easy, but unless you buy a pre-finished body, there’s plenty of work to scratch the builder’s itch.

Pro tip, wax your tuner screws and depth check everything with tape on your drill bit. Don’t drill through the headstock.

You will need to hand carve a nut and level the frets.

Update: I got myself a pitbull guitars J bass lefty kit! I'm excited to get it and hopefully I can get it before my birthday, I'd like to do a warmoth for my birthday and make it a fretless 5 string, I love the sound I hear on albums with a fretless so I'm happy to try something new
