Back in the saddle again - almost

Genzler makes two “combos” that are really their MG350 head with a bracket to attach it to either the BA10-2 or MG112 cab. So you can easily take it out if you want to just bring the head, or add another cab underneath for more volume, etc.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I ended up going with the Markbass Mini CMD 121p IV. I tried several others as well, however it's hard to beat its portability. I can get the 12" extension cab if/when I need it to bring it to 500w. At least for now not knowing where I will end up playing or how often, it will be enough to get me some sound to play around with.

This amp has an XLR line out. Is it necessary to get a DI of some sort or just use the EQ on the amp and the active EQ on the guitar to shape the sound? I was thinking of having one for the added flexibility of not using an amp at times. Anything else to consider in the signal chain? Compressor of some sort? Any sound altering effect I can get later. I am just looking for what to use as a foundation to work from.

If you have any suggestions for DI or Compressor, please let me know which ones to consider.

All you need is a bass and an amp. Everything else would be a case by case basis.
There is no need for a separate DI as you can use the one on the head, unless it doesn't provide the sound you're looking for. Pre EQ would give the sound person a clean palate to work with. Post EQ would give them an already processed signal which may or may not work for that particular room.
