Back problems...

I have not tried this yet but will soon. OsteoStrong. Some reviews I have read claim to have relieved back pain by going there. I am planning to try it out later this year. Will report back (no pun intended....well yes pun intended!)

Try elevating one foot approximately 6-8", maybe a book or singers head. Should relieve some pressure from your lower back & remember that the stronger your stomach is the stronger your back becomes
I can see where a stronger stomach could help things, and as someone else suggested- moving around more. But I'd be leery about elevating one foot like that. Anything that would create unevenness to my lower disks or vertebrae could lead to disaster with my condition.

I'm 52 years old. When I stand on stage for more than 1 set, my lumbar(s) tighten up and I'm in agony. I'm thinking about a tall stool so I can "reset" two or three times during the sets by sitting or leaning for a few moments.
I've been gigging on and off for 30 years. Last night the 3rd set became very painful. This is the rule now rather than the exception.
Yoga? Gym? I'm open to suggestions.
Lance, I hear you, and I FEEL you! I stand at most of my gigs, so I use a rubber pad to stand on. It makes a big difference to reduce, back, leg and foot pain. I also put my mic stand on it and it helps reduce noise transference to the mic. I have an old padded bar stool I picked up years ago that I use when playing upright gigs. Hope this helps.

Trigger point therapy. Check it out. I have had lower back pain since the mid 80s and have been able to eliminate it myself using a lacrosse ball on trigger points in the upper butt area that were "referring" pain to my lower back. Everything else failed, including physical therapy, medications, massage. Best to you.

This "how to" paperback and a lacrosse ball (manual recommends a tennis ball, but I find it is too soft) is all you need:
