Back-saving replacement for Peavey rig -- any suggestions?

Mason's suggested cabs at 42Hz at least cover "E" a little better. Making massive power at "B" is not as easy as one thinks. Most stuff falls off rather quickly.

There's a huge arguement oh you hear all the second harmonics etc, but the fundamental is what tries to tear your speaker out of the cabs.

P.S. The biggest weakpoint in rumblefish's recommendation is that Carvin and Avatar are very difficult to get hold of in the UK and are nothing like the bargain they are in the USA!

Bass cab manufacturers' specs are not to be trusted anyway.

Actually the farting various cabs exhibit is just as easily traced to limited excursion abilities where the second harmonic falls.

Been listening to you Alex. Yes the AMPEG does work at 31Hz "B" I have six of them. BUT you cannot push them to max zoom down there. I run six 810's and two 215's and since making the change to low tuning a couple weeks ago, I opened a whole new can of worms.

Either turn the whole system down to 1/2 to 5/8th power or add a group of Subs and a crossover. I have chosen the crossover and sub route rather than sacrafice the volume.

The problem now is buying the $3000 each units and the big buck amplifier to get the bottom notes back up to 130DB spec.

Green, also hearing you. That wasn't a cab spec but I actually went out and looked at Eminence's 10" NEO speaker lines, it was their 58Hz spec I was quoting. All Avatar stated was that they used Eminence NEO's.
