Back to the Bass

Hi all TB forum members.
I'am back to bass playing after 20 non playing years. I must say, i'am happy to be back with the bass.
Currently i don't play in a band but i do a lot of jamming.
Within 6 months my new and handmade bass will be ready. It's a 4 string with a jazz and stingray pickup.
To describe my playing, I think a bassline must be functional and simple combined with a huge and massive sound. Therefore i use a couple of effects: compressor, octaver, envelope filter, phaser and a bass booster.
I find that sometimes it's very functional not playing a note or playing a ghost note. It's very scary sounding in a band when the bass sound is huge and massive.
My influences: James Jamerson, Tony Levin and Ben Kenney (incubus) :bassist:
