hi i'm looking for a way to create drum beats to play along with, I know old school was something like the alesis sr-16
is this still the way to go , or is there an easier way?
Simple:
Band in a Box - PC or Mac
iRealB - IOS or Android
Got to know more:
Or any DAW these days comes with drums.
Jamstix is the best virtual drummer,
With a good sample lib. Or you any sample lib you like.
Here's a free one, recorded with some of the best mics in the industry. Includes midi beats http://de-de.sennheiser.com/service-support/drummica
Seamonkey is right, almost all DAW's come with some kind of MIDI drums that can sound very good.
I've used BFD Drums from FXPansion and LOVE it. I've had pro drummers ask who did it and I just show them my two index fingers and a midi keyboard~ http://www.fxpansion.com/
You can also find free 'grooves' which are just midi tracks in a beat that are generic, or sometimes very complex you can use by dragging and dropping.
