Bad frets on totally new bass?

I'm not even sure what I'm looking at. Are the frets cracked lengthwise? Never seen that before. What kind of bass?
I've never seen frets cracked like that, so I assume this is not normal. I don't know how this would happen, or if it is a serious issue. Nor do I know how to fix it, short of refretting.
I do know that if I received a bass like this as new, I would immediately return it.
Looks more like gouging from the strings. From lots of bending unnecessarily??
It's new. But i have old Cort and i did a lot of second strings bending in Em pentatonic for 6 years, and frets are fine.
Looks like a bad crowning job. Almost like the file gouged the fret because something harder than the fret alloy was caught in it.
Depends on the strings. I have seen it before with rough stainless strings
Guitar was made in Feb. 2019. It was on sale from June, i believe. Stock strings are roundwounds. I can't imagine how hard you need to play it in a store to make those scars...
Some people are constantly bending. It's a horrible technique that causes what you are seeing. Sure lower quality and softer frets increase the chances.
First photo is 1st fret. How much bending can regular human being do on 1-2 frets?
Looks like poor material. Take it back.
This is in no way a note bending issue. Those kind of marks take time, and are much more regular.
Another possibility is poor metal stress-cracking at a fold. Isn't fret wire flat metal, with a fold at the "top" forming the actual fret?

Even if you're right, this way too much for new instrument, isn't it?
I am right and it depends on what strings did the damage. It should not happen but some strings are harder than some frets. Stainless is very strong and bright stainless is very rough.
