ballsiest 1x10's?

"Newbold, why not a single 210? I have to agree with Alex. 110's are great for low volume levels, but a 210 can offer more volume, better low end, and somewhat easy protability for a little bit more money than a single 110."

i don't have a car and fitting my combo and a 110 in a rolling bag is much easier to take on the bus.

If I don't go with a 110 it's a 112 or a 210...but I only have about 250W to play with, so I have to keep that in mind when I think about driving another cab.

That's why a 110 is seemingly ideal.

I hope nobody starts scouring TB for BBT110's cause I'm nowhere near pulling the trigger.

If it's at all possible to get a 112, I'd get it any day over a 110, quite honestly. You'll get a little more usable power out of the better ones, and it generally has a more full-bodied tone. 110's are good for monitors if you have a good PA system, and the best ones -can- do a good job carrying a small room, but if you're looking to carry larger rooms or play at louder volumes, I think a 112 will usually work better.

I agree. I had the same experience when getting my Schroeder 21012L. I had intended to get a 410L, but when I heard them back-to-back in the shop, I was amazed at how much more thump & low-end you got from the 12" speaker, even considering there were only 3 cones + horn total (rather than 4 + horn in the other cab). Tens do add a nice crispness and attack to the tone, but if I were to get a single speaker, it would be a 12" one (I play 5-string basses, though, just FYI).

I've been realizing how rare 4 ohm 110's are.

Especially used.

I'm gonna be dropping the hammer in the new year if I can find a good 1x10, but might have to go 1x12.

Aside from musicGoRound and Guitar Centre (and the classifeds here and eBay) where else should I scour the classified ads to get a punchy LITTLE 4ohm extension cab?

The BBT110s is a bit unique. It is actually built more like a 12 than a 10.

I'm going to do some surgery on mine and add some speakon jacks. I plan to use them with my DB750 :D

Everytime I read a thread on 1x10's, a love fest starts up for the BBT110s. I really like mine and wonder why Yamaha got rid of it?

Had 2 and sold one (another stupic move on my part :crying:)

Does anyone have experience with there 2x10 and 4x10? I wonder if the tone is the same?

+1 I have a pair of Schroeder Mini 12+R cabs. They sound great and are very loud for their size. I can imagine that the Mini 10 cabs may not be quite as loud and have a little less bottom, but would still sound quite good. The Mini 12 might be worth checking out. If you're more concerned with size and weight vs. the size of the speaker, the Mini 12 is the size of most 110 cabs. I think there is one for sale right now in the classified section for a very reasonable price ... :hiding:

I have both an EA Wizzy 10 and a Schroeder mini 10 +L. Both kick some serious bass, but the Schroeder has more high frequency bite because it has a tweeter.


A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste! :cool:

.....................But finding a 110 rated at 400 watts?:confused: Even if you do, I doubt it would actually take 400 watts at volume. You'd blow her up quick!:eek: Either that or you would be "farting" like the cowboy cook out scene in Blazing Saddles!:rollno:

My Epifani 110's have made me a believer in little cabs, although rated at 250 watts each.
