off topic but I saw this and going to Auburn University I immediately thought you were talking about Cam Newton's heisman Cam-pain so of course I have to chime in with Tour rhyming with war as in War Eagle

Of course this isn't the correct pronunciation just how I grew up saying it I believe the correct pronunciation is Too-er

Why would someone pronounce a word incorrectly in order to sound better educated? I don't understand that logic.

If you're on a Mac, type it in a text window, select it and hit "Speech" - it's "tore" there

To my ear, either one is fine by itself, but "tewer" seems odd in front of bus or guide

Everyone knows the CORRECT pronunciation is "Toe-ah." But a few people might pronounce it "Too-ah." Every other post in this thread is wrong wrong wrong.
