I did this very thing about 15 years ago - played a month of Wednesday nights in a "Smokin" bar off Northwest Highway in Dallas, for same reason - Wednesday night was our regular practice night, so it made since for us to play those nights for $150.00 rather than pay $75.00 for a practice studio. In that month, our drummer's car was broken into in the parking lot (taking his radar detector, radio, and all his CD's) and a friend of the band had his Harley stolen (even though it was parking right by the front door).
