As my sig line says, I'm a Barefaced Big One user. I picked it up from Alex at a storage unit just outside Brighton, must have been at least 5-6 years ago.
So after years of gigs and rehearsals (which includes the fact that my house is 150 yards away from the nearest place I can park my car for loading; so the cab is regularly wheeled back and forth along the pavement -and occassionally snags on any uneven paving slabs) one of the tilt back casters broke on the way into our rehearsal studio last night. The 'axle' came loose from the carrier and the wheel collapsed inside the housing. Obviously, this makes it more difficult to transport - although the cab is so light that carrying it that distance is no biggie - but the main problem is that, as well as my amp, I stack my X32 Rack mixer and iPad on top of my cab and without the castor keeping things level, the whole tower wobbles alarmingly.
So I called Barefaced this morning to see if they still had the castors, and whether I could buy a pair so that I could repair the cab in time for Saturday's gig. They do have the castors, but they wouldn't let me buy any - instead, they're putting a couple in the post FOC.
Nice to have a company that does those little things, even for a 'legacy' cab user.
